1. there are many dogs in the shelter and are being euthanized each day.
-With so many puppy mills breeding high end and expensive dogs, there are not enough people wanting to save lives at the pound or humane societies. Thus killing thousands of innocent animals each day, whereas they could have loving homes Solution: Ban puppy mills
2. Human trafficking
- Millions of teenage girls are being kidnapped into sex trafficking when they go abroad or even right here in the United States. Children are being sold to be used as toys and property. Solution: Create a stronger awareness so people can report it when they see it
3. Animal testing
- Many cosmetic companies have still gone "cruelty-free" when testing new products. Rabbits lose their eyes for us to have eyeliner and its ridiculous. Solution: ban animal testing
4. Corn grain being fed to animals
-All of the grain we feed livestock to make them fat could be used to end world hunger (5 times). The meat industry wants to make all these animals as large as possible to slaughter them and make profit in the end. Solution: Higher regulation on what we feed animals, minimize the meat industry
5. Societies influence on young people
-With models, athletes and celebrities, we are brainwashed into believing that lifestyle is all the matters. There is not enough talk about real issues and problems. America is too sexualised while it could be more educated. Solution: Ban negative advertisements that hold unrealistic expectations
6. Awareness of birth control and negative connotation it brings
-Young woman are still having a large amount of unwanted pregnancies because they either don't know how to receive birth control or are afraid of what their family and friends may think if they found out they went on the pill. Solution: Create awareness for where young women can find birth control
7. Turmoil and tension between the countries of the world
-This causes a lot of fear instilled of individuals. Where we are afraid to trust those who look different from us because we are so sensitized by the news and social media. Solution: World peace would be a solution, but there is no solution for this. Only an individual can end turmoil within their own life
8. Women are not paid as much as men for the same job
-Women to this day are STILL being paid unfairly compared to their male coworkers. Woman only make 77 cents from the dollar. This is both unjust and should change. Solution: Equal pay (voting for Hillary Clinton)
9. 1 in 5 black males will be pulled over, and have a greater chance of being searched for no apparent reason.
- This is instilled racism for police officers. Although they protect us, they are still affected by society and have the tendency to nor overlook color of skin. (Desensitize police officers)
10. Girls in India, Nepal and Cambodia are still not accepted into pursuing a higher level education.
- There are very strong beliefs that women are not capable of learning and should not educate themselves. Male dominance is very strong in countries that show poverty and obsoleteness. (Create awareness for this injustice + help girls overseas to go to school)
Nice list! I love that you included problems from all levels of society (all the way down to the animals!) and with other countries too. I agree that many of these issues could be solved with awareness. For example, most people don't believe that animals get tested on, if they did, they would most likely not use those products anymore. We need to make people aware of these problems so they can make a change.
ReplyDeleteNice job though!

Your list really made me think about problems that I would not originally recognize, but are very important. I like that you identified gender issues, as they are growing, and how you also included that most of these issues can be fixed through awareness. Have you thought about promoting awareness for these causes? It sounds like you would be good at it. I enjoyed reading this!
